Lead Product Designer
MY CONTRIBUTION
Product design / Prototyping / Stakeholder management / Motion design / Web design
To help Beetles connect with beauty-conscious Millennials and promote DIY manicures, we created an AR-powered virtual try-on experience on Amazon. Customers could explore 100+ nail looks, preview them in real time, and shop instantly—turning inspiration into confident, salon-like decisions from home.
I led the interaction design to ensure the AR flow felt natural, shoppable, and visually expressive across devices.
Design Approach and Strategy
To support a seamless try-on-to-purchase journey, I designed a modular user flow that adapts to different entry points, device permissions, and engagement levels. The experience begins from the Beetles Brand Store and guides users through camera access, AR rendering, and interactive nail selection—minimizing friction at each step.
Key flows were built with fallback logic for privacy and permission handling, ensuring users could continue the experience whether using their own hand, a hand model, or opting into photo-based try-on. Shareability and product conversion were integrated as natural endpoints, allowing users to both express and act on their style preferences within the same flow.
This structure supported an evergreen framework—scalable for seasonal updates, product drops, and future virtual try-on innovations.
